Black Honey Manhattan

Celebrating Black History Month with a month of Manhattans. First up the Black Honey Manhattan adapted from @spiritedla on Instagram.

Still tastes like a Werther's Original but with more subtle notes so you might reach for this piece of comfort more often.

Black Honey Manhattan Recipe

2 ounces of New Dawn Whiskey

1 oz honey butter washed Averna

Chocolate or orange bitters (optional)

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir till chilled and strain into a Nick and Nora glass.

Fat washed Averna - Combine 1/2 cup butter with 1/2 cup honey in sauce pan over medium heat. Brown butter. Cool and then combine with 1 cup Averna. Let sit at room temp overnight and then freeze. Strain through coffee filter into clean container.
