French 95

French 95 (the French 75’s more sophisticated, glamourous, and sexier cousin)
It’s time to celebrate! Whiskey or sparkling wine? Why not both? Enter the French 95! Swapping in bourbon for gin to add depth and complexity, this recipe also forgoes simple syrup (who has time to make that) for triple sec to add an extra citrus note. If you don’t have triple sec add 3 tsp (or to taste) of powdered sugar to the lemon juice and stir to combine before topping with bourbon and bubbles.

French 95 Recipe

1 oz New Dawn Bourbon

1/2 oz lemon juice

1/4 oz triple sec

3 oz sparkling wine

You can build this directly in your glass or combine bourbon, lemon juice, and triple sec in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until chilled and strain into your champagne flute and top with sparkling wine.
